Wilderness Painting - Bushcraft - Adventure

Painting is one of the best ways I have found to express myself
and to explore the world within and around us.

Influenced by observations and thoughts as well as words of great people,
I create Inspirational Paintings...

Images that will enrich my life by provoking questions & self reflection,
in other words, Art that aims to elevate the Spirit,
Paintings that make me and hopefully others Think…

By using simple deserted landscapes
combined with dramatic skies to set a tone or mood,
the Artwork delivers a symbolic message...

A message that embodies and symbolizes
a particular human value, a feeling or Spirit;
to enhance, illuminate and to better understand...
What is Best or Worse in Them.

My name is Ric, I am passionate about wild camping, bushcraft and painting in remote wilderness. I enjoy sharing and documenting my nature trips, by painting and documenting them on my YouTube Channel. I hope that through my work, I can inspire people to go into nature and enjoy it with respect, helping preserve what we have left of it.

On this website you can find:

- Links to video playlists of my wilderness adventures, painting and bushcraft

- Some of my work for sale here

- Updated lists of the gear I use outdoors

- Free basic painting lessons for those that want to "give it a go"

- And sometimes, a wilderness painting workshop. I don’t do those often, so make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to stay on top of it.

I am mostly active and engaged with viewers on YouTube but I post daily photos on Instagram also. You can connect with me and say hi on the social media links below:

ART Education

BA, Illustration and Fine Art at Swansea’s Institute of Higher Education, University of Wales - UK

Note: I did not learn how to paint in college since representational art and traditional skills were frowned upon by art teachers at the time. I didn't feel like throwing paint in a canvas to "express my emotions", nor felt like creating useless contraptions to be displayed as "art " in an installation. I wanted learn real painting and drawing techniques. That’s why I studied traditional illustration instead, no computers or apps involved,

So when it comes to painting, I am mostly self taught.

I am most active on my Youtube channel. I check and read all comments, and try to answer all questions, as long as I understand them.
